mbed Robot Racing
mbed Robot Racing challenge is all about getting the robot around the track as fast as possible. It can be driven manually, scripted with predefined commands, or made fully autonomous, but its only the laptime that counts!.
The Robot, the track¶
The robot is a 3pi from Pololu, which has been given the mbed makeover. With new expansion card, and an mbed on top, we're calling the new robot the m3pi.
The track is a total 1188mm x 2100mm. It can be made from 10 A2 panels (594mm x 420mm)
The rules¶
These are the rules for a valid lap on the mbed Robot Racing track.
- Each attempt is a "flying lap". This means a rolling start, the m3pi is already moving when it crosses the start/finish line to start the lap
- The m3pi must stay within the black lines that define the width of the track. Minor violations of this are allowed at the judges discretion.
- the lap is completed when the beam is broken for the second time in the same direction.
- In all matters, the judges word is final.
Gentlemen (and Ladies), start your engines!¶
