NFCLamp user guide
This demo is a "SAD" lamp that can have it's colour changed by an NFC-enabled Android smartphone.
The lamp is controlled by an mbed NXP LPC11U24 Microcontroller featuring an ARM 32-bit Cortex-M0 core. The mbed communicates with a PN512 NFC transceiver IC connected via SPI interface and uses PWM for controlling a high-power RGB LED.

You will need...¶
- mbed NFC "SAD" Lamp
- NFC-equipped Android smartphone
Setup and Operation¶
1. Supply power to the lamp
2. Ensure NFC data exchange is enabled on the smartphone
3. For the first time use, the smartphone must be internet connected to download the appropriate Android App from the Play Store. Present the smartphone to the lamp as shown
NOTE: The location of the lamp NFC is as shown, on the right side of the base. You may need to move the orientation of the smartphone to ensure that the NFC transceiver if the smartphone is within close proximity of the lamp NFC transceiver.
You will be directed to the Google Play store, click 'Install' to download the AppNearMe App to the smartphone.
Once the application is successfully installed, the SAD lamp App will automatically be launched every time the NFC transceiver in the smartphone is within proximity of the NFC transceiver in the lamp
4. Use the app to turn the lamp on/off and select desired light colours and present the phone when you wish to update the lamp
