mbed projects on YouTube!

Lots of mbed project videos are starting to appear, so we've been adding those we find to our mbedmicro YouTube channel. Here are a selection we added recently for some light inspiration towards the end of the week...

You can see lots more at:

If you post a youtube video, tell us and we'll add it to the channel. We're especially interested to see videos of projects that were entered in the Circuit Cellar competition (and there were a lot), so get out your video phone and share your handywork!

This is a mbed emulating the rare bulky external C7420 Basic Programming module http://www.cyberroach.com/vidpac/vidhard/new_vid_c7420.htm for an old Videopac G7400 Game Console. In the module there is originally 16k RAM, 8k ROM (with the basic interpreter) and a Z80 running @ 3.5 MHz. The cartridge is a one-on-one copy of the original C7420 cartridge which contains a 2kByte ROM for the console and two logic gates chips.

The mbed is emulating the Z80, rom and ram and connects to the cartridge port of the console through an 8 bit 74HC646 register. On the Hitex protoboard I later added the microSD card holder and the Z80 code is complemented by some mbed code to mimic CSAVE and CLOAD to the microSD card. Note: the mbed emulation is faster than the original Z80
