After a chat with a couple of the hardware dev guys at work, one question arose which is whether the mbed project is tied inexorably to the NXP microcontrollers, or if there may be a future mbed using other manufacturer's ARM based uCs? Specifically, the company has some experience with Atmel products and this led to us wondering where the future lies for the mbed project.
