Hi Mark,

We at arm currently do not support or distribute any Eval kit for Mbed system. Therefore, I would recommend that you define all the needs for your project and look for a board that fit you perfectly. According to this website (https://www.maximintegrated.com/en/design/reference-design-center/system-board/6388.html), the MAXREFDES155 is a shield for the Mbed-enable board MAX32600MBED(https://os.mbed.com/platforms/MAX32600mbed/.

Here is the link to the Mbed library for the MAXREFDES155 that run on MAX32600MBED boardhttps://os.mbed.com/teams/Maxim-Integrated/code/MAXREFDES155/

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for your prompt response.

I understand that ARM supports MBED as a sponsor and you probably do not like to recommend any vendor over another but I am just seeing out to get my feet wet with MBED and want to start with a cheap dev kit before I dive into the more complicated stuff. So maybe someone else could recommend a few simple Eval kits just based on there ease of use for learning and their current popularity.

Hello Mark, I am sorry. I did not know what is your intention. Since most evaluation boards are about $15 and could go up to $60, I thought it would be cheaper for you to just start with the MAX32600MBED/MAXREFDES15. That is because Mbed have a very good documentation and cookbook that allowed new user to learn and start implement their project immediately. Here is the link to that https://os.mbed.com/docs/v5.9

Also the online compiler also allowed you to search and import example code that you might need for your board.

But here is the some eval kit that I think that would help you get your fit wet with Mbed.

  1. FRDM-K64F https://os.mbed.com/platforms/FRDM-K64F/ This board has been around for a long time so it is very reliable and there are a lot of example code in the Online Compiler library
  1. NUCLEO-F103RBhttps://os.mbed.com/platforms/ST-Nucleo-F103RB/ this board is cheap, has a lot of example codes, and has the same Cortex M3 as the MAX32600BED board.
  1. DISCO-F429ZIhttps://os.mbed.com/platforms/ST-Discovery-F429ZI/ This one has an LCD and has a lot of example codes for you to reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
