The build system is under heavy load right now.
I cannot compile my source file because of this problem. When will it fixed?

Hello everyone,
We are growing pretty constantly these days. More users means more load on the online compiler. We monitor the usage and try to bump up the size and number of the servers that back the online compiler whenever we seem to be exceeding their capacity.
As far as offline tools go, we have a tool, mbed CLI, for development offline. You can find it here: https://github.com/ARMmbed/mbed-cli . developer.mbed.org has a convenient "Import with mbed CLI" button (it's a drop down option on the "import into online compile" button) that gives you the command needed to import a project with mbed CLI.
Thanks, Jimmy

Yup, I too have the same problem. Also, I am getting a page error, had to try a few times to post this comment...

This was happening yesterday also. It would be nice if there was a response from the moderators about this? I have not seen any response so far. I am trying to work and this is extremely inconvenient to say the least.

Today is the 2nd day I am sitting in office simply waiting for the compiler to start working again. We're under a deadline! Does anyone have a workaround? I think I have to seriously start looking at an offline toolchain.

Obviously this is one of the reasons an online compiler is such a terrible idea, even for a hobbyist it's a pain, for a business it's a disaster.
You are at the mercy of someone else's computer equipment, and without any Service Level Agreement. And running lots of servers gets expensive...

I don't think the online compiler is a terrible idea Bob, I believe it may have become overstretched now with claims of 100,000 Mbed users it will be buckling under pressure. This problem started several months ago and has been getting worse. What is needed is an offline compiler facility or version that is tuned to the available platforms that are on Mbed.
The Mbed compiler is using Keil which I believe is owned or a subsidiary of ARM. UVision 32K free version is outdated in size and perhaps some consideration should now be given to increase this inline with others such as Code Red that has now doubled its free use to 256K for LPCExpresso.
An integrated Keil Mbed version would be the way to go. Its not too difficult to keep the online concept but have the compiler resident on the user's PC. This would dramatically reduce the overhead on Mbed's systems at the same time keeping that online community alive. Mbed library updates would remain readily available like it is now and still retain that easy to use IDE.

Having same issue now.
Expected response: "We are looking into it and it should be resolved shortly"
