I'm running a genetics research group at the University of Cambridge (http://logic.sysbiol.cam.ac.uk) and enjoy a bit of geekery and home improvement using microelectronics. Programming is part of my day job, but I only get really close to hardware when I'm at home. My tinkering interests are IoT and I play with the Raspberry Pi, Arduino and mbed platforms. My research group recently got a big donation from the ARM University Programme to enable teaching of mbed programming to our compute-savvy students.
