This is not your typical robot. mBot is a smart and hacker friendly robot with reflective sensors, LEDs and a buzzer. On first power up, mBot is loaded with software that makes it dance on a table without falling off. It does so by reading the two reflective sensors in the front. If it detects no reflection, it knows that it is off the edge of a table and it will backup and turn.

Important note: mBot uses two 3.7v 14500 rechargeable Li-ion batteries. Batteries and chargers are available from many online sources, like Amazon and Ebay. Using AA batteries won't damage the mBot but it will not work.

After selecting the mBuino platform in the compiler, click the import program button:

How do I update the firmware?¶

In the case of updating the firmware, press and hold Button 1 (BTN1) as you apply power to the board or while pressing and releasing the RESET button.
