MBED_DEMOS

This is a team of people who are creating demos for ARM MBED events. These programs will have been used in hands on labs, hack-a-thons and other event demonstrations.

sprint iot prototyping workshop

Following the Processor to Cloud Webinar we hosted with Sprint and TMC is the IoT Prototyping Workshop in Hollywood Florida.

In the fast evolving world of the “Internet of things” solutions need to be responsive, innovative, and nimble. We invite developers and engineers, and project managers to learn how to use the mbed.org a cloud based compiler to program ARM® Cortex™-M3 microprocessors and cellular connectivity to quickly create new "connected prototypes".

What Attendees will learn:

  • Rapid prototyping using a cloud based compiler
  • Crowd sourcing libraries to add drivers from common sensors and peripherals
  • Cellular communication

Who should attend:

  • Programmers that know machine languages and want to make their devices connected
  • Product Managers and Engineers looking to shorten time to market for product and services
  • Business Development Managers focusing on IoT
  • Incubator and Start up business interested in the IoT Space
  • Educational institutions

Labs

  • Lab 1 - 25 minutes
    • Input and Output
    • Challenge: Modify the text sent to the LCD display using the joystick or pots
  • Lab 2 - 35 minutes
    • Interfacing
    • Challenge: Use the pots to change the buzzer frequency and a button to enable and disable the tone
  • Lab 3 - 40 minutes
  • Lab 4 - 45 minutes
    • Connectivity
    • Challenge: Send yourself a SMS. Send your board a SMS in response and print the message to the LCD
    • Challenge: Redirect the output contents from the HTTP GET request to the LCD
    • Challenge: Change the stream from read only to read/write and inteface with the application board (or shield)
    • Challenge: Use the on board GPS to update your location. Explore the demo
      • Sensinode Nanoservice Client
