I am using ubuntu. All my jobs done by using terminal. I like terminal and building project make commond. Currently using GCC toolchain but generated size of bin file is too much big. i need armcc 6 for small size bin file. Mbed studio has armcc 6 so we need mbed studio for UBUNTU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everybody, good news is coming!!

I'm Federico Bozzini, a new member of the Mbed Studio team, and I'm glad to announce that we are currently working on a Linux release.

We are currently deciding which platform to support in the short and in the long term, so please let us know which Linux distros and versions you are using and help us make the right decision.

Ubuntu should be the first supported distro imho, it is the most used distro.

Do you have a beta test program ?

Very good news indeed. Ubuntu has the largest installed base, thus it should be the preferred target.

Hi Zoltan,

We will consider supporting Mbed Linux based on demand. I'm keeping track of the requests coming in and we will keep them in mind when prioritising our work.

Thanks, Joe

Joe, make that two more please, my brother-in-law only uses Linux and runs virtual Windows when he has to. I'll be going the same way later this year.

My entire team runs on Linux. Will Linux support happen anytime in the near future?

When we have a date for Linux support I'll report back here. Thanks again for the interest!

I love to see Linux as well, however at present it would be great if Studio bugs for Windows and Mac OS can be fixed first to get into a state that mbed Studio can be used.

Yes, that's the priority. We're working on the most commonly reported issues at the moment, in particular hardening the library support.
