hello,

I have had the same problem. The demo supplied on the mbed website will not work. The LCD display is just white in colour I have installed the driver and upgraded the software on the board. Could you perhaps suggest something that I can do.

Hi,

Do you see the disk drive on your PC ?

Can you try to update the STLink driver: https://developer.mbed.org/teams/ST/wiki/ST-Link-Driver

and then to update the board STLink fw: https://developer.mbed.org/teams/ST/wiki/Nucleo-Firmware

Sir we updated but no STLink not detecting on the PC. any chance to replace the board

hi, Could you please confirm if you are using a STM32F429-disco or a STM32F429-disc1?

The STLink on the first version does not support drag and drop / virtual com port. so it won't show-up as disk drive when you plug it.

Many times I tried to connect the board but On board stlink not detected. Two LED's are working when I connected the usb power, LD1 is flashing and LD2 continuous glowing. This is the current situation

I have a similar problem with Windows 10. https://developer.mbed.org/questions/76649/Nucleo-boards-do-not-work-with-Windows-1 What is your operating system?

What I would try now:

  • try on another USB port - if the port you are using cannot provide enough current, the device won't start. (on a hub for example) You may want to detach all unnecessary USB devices that maybe consume your current budget.
  • try on another PC
  • try to
    remove the device,
    uninstall the driver,
    reboot,
    install the driver again,
    reboot,
    plug the device
  • make sure the upgrade finished correctly, eventually do the upgrade again...
