KL25Z does not mbed enable

I hold down the reset button and plug in the KL25Z and is recognized as E:\BOOTLOADER. I can drag & drop the latest firmware revision onto the KL25Z and the file appears. 20140530_k20dx128_kl25z_if_opensda.s19

When I power cycle the KL25Z it still appears as E:\BOOTLOADER (without holding down the reset button). The firmware file is now gone. Green lights blinking.

Rinse & repeat, same results. Using Windows 7 Professional. Using Freescale Xtrinsic-Sensors-EVK evaluation kit.

Just loaded a LPC11U24 onto my account with no problems. Any suggestions?

Question relating to:

Same is the case with my board as well. I really can't find a solution on any of the forums.

I verified the reset button is okay, removed the shield, and tried updating (and reverting) the firmware. The board will only enumerate as BOOTLOADER (if I hold down the reset while plugging in). When I drag an drop (any) firmware file onto the E:/BOOTLOADER drive, green status light indicates an error (Bootloader Error 2 seconds off followed by 8 rapid on/off blinks). I can read/connect with the four files on E:\BOOTLOADER ( FSL_WEB, LASTSTAT, SDA_INFO, TOOLS) however it does not seem willing to accept any driver update. Linking to the SDA_INFO site always shows (& never changes): Board Name is: FRDM-KL25Z MicroBoot Kernel Version is: 1.03 Bootloader Version is: 1.05 Application Version is: 0.00

In bootloader idle mode, I do get the steady green on/off blinking light (Blinking: 500ms on, 500ms off). Tried to run the mbed Windows serial driver after loading the firmware file for mbed and it will not detect, nor can I 'see' the board unless of course it is in bootloader mode. Still not able to use the board. Any other suggestions?

Okay, I found that I had not extracted the .S19 file and once I did, able to recognize as an mbed device. I had been dragging & dropping the compressed file onto the E:\BOOTLOADER drive which would explain the error status on the KL25Z. Problem solved.

Maybe the reset button is stuck low or perhaps the shield holds the reset low at startup. Check the button and remove the shield.

I had much the same problem on Windows 7, try one of the earlier firmware's from this page, I think I had to use the pre Windows 8.1 version, original firmware.
