Working Export to Free Tools for Nucleo

I am an active promoter of mbed. I promoted it last year at DerbyCon 4.0 in my talk "Single Chip Microcontrollers: Beyond Arduino." For the maker community, I think exporting an mbed project to either CooCox or Em::Blocks for development, coupled with $10-11 Nucleo boards, makes for a compelling solution for the maker community.

However, when I tried to export a simple mbed Nucleo mbed PWM project to those tool chains, they both failed. Can anyone recommend a working ecosystem for taking mbed on Nucleo to a free or very cost cost development platform for the Maker community?

Thanks!

For what it's worth, I was able to export an EFM32 project to and compile it to Em::Blocks. Don't know if it works. Will export to Simplicity Studio, which is an excellent IDE, Just downloaded it but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

How do you mean they failed? As in they were corrupt, or simply didn't download? In general exports seem to be buggy lately.

The builds failed.

Hi,

thanks for the support.

What are the errors? I can look at CoIDE errors why it fails and we can fix it. Is it related to only PWM example or a program like HelloWorld fails also?
