BOM for the mbed Microcontroller? What does IC6 and IC1 do?

Hello All,

I am thinking of making my own mbed NXP LPC1768.  I am looking at its schemtics and looking at the board itself.

http://mbed.org/media/uploads/chris/mbed-005.1.pdf

Where can I find the bill of materials for this board?

By the way, what does the IC6 and IC1 do?

In the forum, someone spin a board but using the mbed to program. What if I want to program this chip using USB 2.0? Any recommendation as to how can this be done? I know I can do the following (1) route the JTAG signal out to a connector and then use a J-Link cable can be used. (2) use a MAX32221 and route this signal to  pin P2[10] to ISP it. Using my PC Serial port. But what if I want to do it like the single chip solution like the mbed board?  Any suggesstion?

Since the SPI and I2C signals comes from pin 46, 55, 2, 53, 54, 1, and 9 of the "magical Mbed controller", what magical thing that it does to the SPI and I2C siganls in Pin5,6,7,8,9,10, and 11 of the Mbed board?

Thanks,

R
