Storing a analog file as u law or any kinda Container format , speech codecs

Hello,

Now that we have a u law lib http://mbed.org/users/okini3939/libraries/ulaw/lhp5ij

Can we please get a demo of how to do this.

Recording from a microphone and encoding into u law and then storing the file onto the local file of the mbed or a sd card.

If you can not do this can you give me advise on where and what I should be buying or learning that would give me the information I need.

I would really like to see the mbed with some audio contanier libs, it's just really daunting at the moment, we have plenty of open source formats to choose from,

We have the madplayer that Andreas Grün has nicely done for us, yet nobody has focused on analog input and not even 1 basic demo of how to encode a digital signal into a compressed or uncompressed

You know what excuse my writin attempt at what I am trying to express here, but I think you should be able to paint somewhat of a picture.
