Put Interface chip into low power sleep?

04 Oct 2010

(This is a pretty specific question mostly directed at Simon or other mbed staff...).

Is there a semihosting command I can send to the mbed interface chip to put it into ultra-low power sleep/stop mode when I don't need it?

Alternatively, can you tell me what it's supposed to do when USB isn't attached and the serial console and local filesystem isn't in use. It still appears to be drawing a fair bit of current.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Hugo,

I'll have a beta version of the firmware to release by later next week which supports this. I'll get back with something for you to test; it'd be great if you could try it out.

By default, when USB isn't attached, it is still having to poll looking for debug/semihosting requests.

A test version of the firmware would be great, I'd be happy to test it and report problems/successes.

Cheers!

For the sake of the archives:

The beta firmware that supports interface powerdown which Simon mentioned above: http://mbed.org/users/simon/notebook/interface-powerdown/

Thanks heaps Simon, much appreciated!
