Several of our laptop PCs were updated from Window 8.0 to 8.1 recently, and the network bridge feature from the laptop's Wi Fi to the network jack (used by mbed) stopped working with mbed. I think this is likely a Windows 8.1 issue, but wondered if anyone else has seen it and/or found a fix. Searching the web, I found some other 8.1 network bridge issues reported but not much on this exact one that seemed to work and fix it. We have seen the same issue on two different makes/models of laptops.
Have tried just about all of the settings in the GUIs for DHCP and Firewalls to no avail. The bridge seems to install and setup OK, the GUI shows that it detects the active net cable from mbed, but mbed never gets an IP address. It all worked just fine in Windows 8.0 (before update to 8.1), or if I plug my mbed into any other network jack (not on the Win 8.1 PC) with DHCP enabled.
