Sensor suggestions

I asked this over on Element14, but that sight seems to be dead or at least none friendly.

Looking for recommendation for the following sensors/devices that will integrate easy with the mBed:

Motion (currently looking at the zilog) Smoke CO2 LP Gas Heat Light Sound/Vibration

Stand alone devices would be Ideal. As an example of what I'm looking for, this would be suitable for Vibration/Sound

I can find these things on my own, not wanting you to do the leg work. Just interested in your recommendation/opinion if you have worked with anything like this before.

I recently put a list up on the cookbook of what I know about. Most of them we have used, but not all of the Gas ones.
