Hi,

As a professional software engineer I have over 10 years of development experience in a variety of targets ranging from embedded C and assembler on Motorola 860, through Java on a client/server Unix platform, to C++ and C# on Win32.

I tinker with electronics (from a hardware perspective) strictly at the hobbyist level and previously that mostly consisted of using Microchip PICs.  As my projects slowly became more complex, I found that the PICs available to hobby developers (i.e. in DIP form factor) were quite limited (in terms of the amount of code they could hold).  I started to look around for alternatives and this is how I came upon the mbed world.  So far I am liking what I am seeing :-)
