Too nub or not too nub?
So I was keeping up with my little reports here but lately I've been far too busy actually coding. Here is a quick progress update (mostly for myself).
I'm less of a noob than I was when I started with mbed, but put me in a room of programmers and I'm still a total nub.
My uOLED library has been updated with some new functions but I have not yet released the new code. I just got my USB-MB5 module and need to update my OLED's firmware so I can test a few things. At the moment my block read/write functions are not working and it appears to not be my fault.
I have been working on a PCB design but it's been sitting around waiting to be finished for over a month now. I only have to spend maybe 2 hours on it to complete it but I'm just too absorbed into my current main project.
What I am working on the most right now is a watch using the mbed and a .96" OLED from 4D Systems.
Will include:
- Rechargeable battery
- In-circuit charging
- Simple audio
- RFID button
May also include:
- WiFi
- Emergency LED lights (think flashlight)
- Vibration motors
- Considering possibility in the future of input system using range finding and positioning sensors
- Who knows?
My intention is to design this in such a way to allow later designed modules to be plugged into the watch (through mini USB) to extend the capability of the device. Above all it should be a clean easy to read watch, but there will be simple games and other applications.
