Can not download to Nucleo F401 board

I can not download any programs to my Nucleo F401 board. The board has a fail.text file saying "The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU" and the MCU gets very hot. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi Dylan,

I would give the following troubleshooting steps a try:

  1. Restart your computer and power cycle the board (unplug and replug back in to your computer)
  2. Use a different USB port on your computer
  3. Use a different USB cable
  4. Update your board's firmware: https://os.mbed.com/teams/ST/wiki/ST-Link-Driver & https://os.mbed.com/teams/ST/wiki/Nucleo-Firmware
