How on earth do a joystick work?
I am trying to use a 2 position joystick to do a display of a tic-tac-toe game on a Nokia 5110 LCD screen, but the button is completely not controlled by normal "if" statements. How can I get the joystick operational?

You need to give us more information. Details of the joystick, what the code is if it's not if statements etc...
