"Initialization of the Sound Terminal Expansion Board failed" error

Hi guys,

Im just a rookie starting out with the STM nucleo board. I got the X-NUCLEO-CCA02M1 board running it with my STM nucleo STM32F401RE board. I ran the Karaoke system program on the same setup with the latest firmware and driver. When I loaded the compiled binary on the board it gave me the error

"Initialization of the Sound Terminal Expansion Board failed"

Is there something Im missing . Also if someone can guide me as to how do i record an audio sample and play it back ? Is there a GUI tool to do so or do i have to enter the commands through the console.

These might seem like really amateur questions but like i said Im new to this and any help will be deeply appreciated.

thanks Sid

Hello Sid,
thank you for your interest to this board.

Concerning the issue you reported, did you pay attention to the HW configuration of the solder bridges of the Sound Terminal expansion board?
"To make the two audio boards work together, the X-NUCLEO-CCA01M1 Sound Terminal Expansion Board has to be configured to use the I2S2 peripheral of the Nucleo F401RE board: please refer to the X_NUCLEO_CCA01M1 page."

Best regards,
Davide
