I should save this somewhere so I don't need to search it again all the time (better yet, mbed should make this available somewhere, since it is getting stupid).

Easiest solution: Run the firmware update using a Windows 7 PC (or earlier).

Next easiest solution: Disable library search using the group policy editor in Windows 10 pro (and run a firmware update)

Last solution: Disable library search using the register editor in Windows 10 (and run a firmware update)

This link has more information: https://mcuoneclipse.com/2016/08/01/bricking_and_recovering_opensda_boards_in_windows_8_and_10/. It is alot of text, but important part how to disable library search in Windows 10 is at the bottom.

Hi Erik - here is a blog to link to that demonstrates how to update DAPLink bootloader firmware that would allow the interface firmware to work normally under windows 10. Would appreciate if you could help spread the word and if there are clarifications needed let me know. https://os.mbed.com/blog/entry/DAPLink-bootloader-update/
