Am I doing something wrong to make on-line system unusable

I'm evaluating the mbed platform. So far I like the functionality but the TIME it takes to get anything done is a deal breaker. For example as I type this I'm waiting for a drag and drop operation to complete. Found a few libraries I might want to look at and tried to import them. I'm going on 10 minutes to open and look at the source code. OK I can see it now and I decide to move from libraries tab to programs tab. Nothing happens so I go back here and read more questions and answers, checking back every few minutes. Lots like it's dead now, nothing happens no matter what I click on. Have to hit the the browser's re-load button. Now I see a blank screen with the word "initializing..." and after three minutes it is still initializing. Looking again it finished.

My question: I'm using Safari on Mac OS Sierra. Is there anything I might be doing wrong that could cause this to happen? Or is this just the way this works?

Is there anything going on with the server

Currently it all seems to work fine for me. There are a few huge libraries which take a while to import (such as the complete mbed uncompiled source code), but in general what you see definately shouldn't be happening.
