USB Device Descriptor Request Failed..

Hey Guys

I am currently trying to use the USBmidi hello world example in the Mbed cookbook. I am using an LPC1786 with the mbed classic compiler. Both windows 10 and OSX 10.5.8 don't seem to recognize the mbed controller as a usb device. When looking at the device panel in Windows 10, it says "USB Device Descriptor Request Failed".

I current have the following connections. VCC > Vin, GND > GND, D- > D-, D+ > D+. I am using a sparkfun mini USB breakout board.

Have done a bit of research but haven't found anything to useful. I have also tried some other mbed USB libraries without any success.

Any suggestions or links to other discussions is much appreciated!

are you using mbed platform1768 or your own circuit?

I am using the 1768 platform and I am following the tutorial provided on this website (mbed classic)
