Any update to the BLE roadmap?

...since the Nov. 14, 2014, post: https://developer.mbed.org/forum/team-63-Bluetooth-Low-Energy-community/topic/5275/?

Would be willing to help, given the following:

  • Background: Used nRF51822 over the last year and a half on several projects, doing: all EE and HW design, PCB design, layout, and assembly (on several), all firmware, developed using Keil MDK, Segger J-Link, Nordic SDKs and S110 stack. Implemented a variety of BLE services and characteristics, standard and proprietary, GPS and MEMS sensors, LCD graphics, I2C, SPI and UART busses.
  • Current nRF51822 Projects (using mbed): Involving additional BLE services and characteristics, and more iOS app development to display, store and forward the device data and control device response.

I would be happy to discuss your current BLE roadmap and see if any of my current work would (or could be made to) contribute to satisfying your requirements.

Hi Mike,

What sort of information are you looking for? As you might have seen, we've been doing some work on improving our docs, and there are a bunch of interesting tasks around SoftDevice, APIs, etc, as well as of course the upcoming mbed 3.0

It might be interesting to point out that we've got a job opening for an engineer to work on the Bluetooth platform, the 'Duties' section is always a good way to see what we're planning!

Duties

  • Helping create and deliver our Bluetooth Low Energy roadmap
  • Developing the mbed SDK's Bluetooth APIs and HAL abstraction
  • Working with partners to help them integrate Bluetooth stacks into mbed and port mbed to their Bluetooth chips
  • Designing Bluetooth test procedures and integrating them into validation and system test suites
  • Learning from the problems developers face using Bluetooth and proposing tools to make these go away
  • Creating examples and tutorials on how to use these tools ...

Let us know if you're looking for more information!
