i would like to access the files in hard drive of my computer. what to do?

How?
You could install a file transfer protocol or web server on the computer and use a network connection to an mbed with ethernet.
But if you want the mbed while plugged in to the USB to be able to read files on the hard drive then it can't be done. A USB device can't directly access files on the host device, it would be a massive security hole if it was possible to do so.
