Can I detach() the object that un-attached safety ?

I want to use this function like WDT. When reset the WDT, I must restart 'Timeout' object before it act. WDT resetting code is many placed in the source. So, I want to detach without checking it activated. Can I detach Timeout without confirm if it atached ? (safety ignored ?)
