I'm new to ARM and MBED... Since Mbed 3.0 is coming, should I just wait for that before diving in?

I mean, won't I be wasting time learning libraries and other things that might get deprecated? I'm not in any rush to learn ARM. I could just keep learning electronics, AVR microcontrollers, etc..
Thanks for any input

From what I understand mbed3 is mainly a new OS running on mbed. So I wouldn't learn to use the current mbed RTOS right now.
But for a learning project you're not going to be using an OS anyway, the rest of the API isn't going to go away anytime soon.

Personally I wonder if mbed OS is ever going to be more popular than RTOS tbh. For sure I wouldn't worry about regular mbed stuff being phased out.
mbed OS is not an RTOS, so they will both have a place in the future I would think.
posted by 16 Oct 2015If I would be cynical I would say that the place of mbed OS in the future is the list of ideas which failed. Luckily I am not cynical, oh wait :P.
But that would all be fine and dandy, if not everything else was hurting so bad because all of mbeds resources are focussed on mbed OS and everything else is neglected.
