FRDM-kl46z Won't Boot after Firmware Update

Hi,

I have updated the firmware on my new frdm-kl46 as suggested at http://developer.mbed.org/handbook/Firmware-FRDM-KL46Z. After the board was unplugged and plugged back in, it would not boot any longer. Please advise.

Thank you.

Can you at least get to the bootloader mode? That one should work always. Which firmware did you use? Can you rever to the older one?

I used this firmware update (as suggested at the link above) http://developer.mbed.org/media/uploads/sam_grove/20140530_k20dx128_kl46z_if_opensda.s19 Yes, I can get into the bootloader mode; update is done in that mode. I also want to mention that this is the second board that I'm having this issue with. This same thing happened to the first one - I thought I might have messed it up for some reason and bought a new one.

Thank you.

Hello. Have you solved your problem? I have the same issue. What have you done?

Are you using windows? Did you install serial driver?

I'm using Windows 8. When I try installing the driver, it says that no mbed device has been found.

As Martin suggested, try rolling back to the previous firmware to rev 0201 or even the beta version. there is a similar condition with the KL25Z. Rolling back here by one revision fixes the issue even with the latest serial driver installed, at least this is the case when using Win7 64bit.

I'll roll back to the previous driver then and see what happens. Thank you.

Select one of the other firmware files on this page (right hand click the three dots in the brackets and "save target as"):

To update the the latest KL46Z firmware you need to first update the bootloader. Instructions on this can be found here: https://mcuoneclipse.com/2014/11/01/illustrated-step-by-step-instructions-updating-the-freescale-freedom-board-firmware/
