Hardware dependence of BLE API?

Does this API rely on the Mbed interface chip, or is all the working done internally for the nrf518221? I am looking at migrating code using it to a custom board and want to know if I can drop the interface chip.

Hi George,

I am using mbed on a bespoke standalone platform with just nrf51822 and nothing else. I use SWD to program the nordic with an external Segger debugger.

You can ditch the interface chip.
