External Power Supply

I'm trying to operate the K64F board with an external power supply. I've got 5V in the V_in (Pin 16) and the ground pin (Pin 14) connected. I can see the orange light on the ethernet port but that's all I can see. It doesn't run when I hit the 'reset' button.

To double check, I plugged it into my PC using the USB and hit reset, and it worked.

How can I get it to run using an external power source?

Solution: Miloje's comment explains why the problem is happening.

Solution: Use an external battery. I'm using http://www.amazon.com/Anker-Astro-Lipstick-Sized-Portable-Technology/dp/B005X1Y7I2/ref=sr_1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1435153897&sr=1-3

Hi Fahim,

Please have a look at Table 1 on Page 5 of document http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/user_guide/FRDMK64FUG.pdf

There it says that if you are using Vin pin, then OpenSDAv2 interface is not operational, so if you expect some terminal output on OpenSDAv2 micro USB connector, you won't see it.

How do you test if your board works? What kind of test program are you using?

Regards, Miloje

I see. Thanks.

It's writing the accelerometer data onto a .csv doc and I can see it update when I plug in the micro SD into my PC.
