FRDM-KL46Z: Difference between the mbed interface upgrade file and firmware

'20140530_k20dx128_kl46z_if_opensda.s19' is called 'mbed interface upgrade file'. Is it the latest firmware to be used? if not, what's the difference between the mbed interface upgrade file and firmware? I am a bit confused with these two names.

Yep thats the latest firmware.
