I tried to save mbed firware, now my application version is 0.00.

Hello everyone.

I got a FRDM-KL25Z board and I tried to save the mbed firmware following the instructions that are explained here http://mbed.org/handbook/Firmware-FRDM-KL25Z

Then, after copying the s19 file, I unplug and plug again the board, but nothing happens not even the green led is blinking. I attempted to rollback doing the following:

- In bootloader mode, drag and drop the BOOTUPDATEAPP_Pemicro_v111 file.

- Power cycle.

- In bootloader mode, drag and drop the MSD-DEBUG-FRDM-KL25Z_Pemicro_v114 file.

- Unplug and plug it again in application loader, but as I said before, nothing happens.

When I open the "SDA_INFO.htm" it says:

Board Name is: FRDM-KL25Z

MicroBoot Kernel Version is: 1.05

Bootloader Version is: 1.09

Application Version is: 0.00

The bootloader version should be 1.11 as I "installed" it but it keeps in 1.09, and the same happens to the Application loader.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

P.S: In bootloader mode, the little green led blinks like 8 times a bit fast, and then waits 3 seconds to blink again. P.S.1: My OS is Win8.1

After all this evenings trying to fix this, I solved it so I'll write it in here so maybe I can help someone :). I just had to install de Application loader "MSD-DEBUG-FRDM-KL25Z_Pemicro_v114" in my Windows 7 laptop and now my Win 8.1 recognizes the board in application mode. Eventhough I had the usb drivers for windows 8.1, it seems that it's still kinda bugged.

I have had the same issue with the KL series: I am sure it is possible to make it work under windows 8.1, but really the easy solution is to just do the complete firmware update once in an older windows version.
