Direct Ethernet communication between 2 mbeds.
Hi,
I want to establish communication between 2 mbeds using ethernet. Could anyone share some insight into how I might be able to do so , and what hardware components might be required.

Start by looking around the site. There are a lot of links on connecting Ethernet devices

The simplest way (assuming you have RJ45 sockets hooked up to both devices) is to use an ethernet cross over cable. This connect the RX from one device to the TX of the other and vice versa which is essentially performing the role of a network switch.
