Ham Radio mbed Contest in French speaking countries

07 Dec 2010

Dear HAM Radio fellows and SWL,

Because the ham fellows are technical freaks it looked to us that making some Ham bound developments would motivate us.

Together with the Belgian French Ham web-publication QSP Revue, a HAM Radio amateur contest has been set up. It's totally free of any charges.

It is sponsored by ARM and Plantronics.

The purpose is to produce an mbed design related to HAM concern. The constrains are : the publication of the project is expected to be received by Guy - ON5FM@scarlet.be by December 17th at latest. Text must be written in French ! (Winning projects wil be published in  the Belgian French speaking QSP Revue - The web publication is freely accessible at URL http://www.onHam.com (If your french is rusty, don't panic! The editors will edit the text when needed !) Of course, your programming of the mbed need to talk C or C++ ! Thats all.

The project description (objectives, ways to achieve, dedicated I/O circuitry, listings, etc.) will be sized versus HAM expectation, reproductibility, originality, performance, quality of description. From those ideas and papers submitted, 10 projects will be selected. Begin of next year, the selected projects will receive an mbed (thank you ARM for the kind sponsoring) and will have 'till mid February to make their project life. Non selected projects can of course go ahead, get an mbed and go on, prove your will power and confidence ! Yes you can too :-)

QSP Revue jury will need proof of working ! Pictures, videos, listings, etc. to allow the jury to appreciate the materiality of the working project.

Again, ten working HAM/mbed project will be rewarded. Have a look at the December issue of QSP Revue (and former editions) to learn more about what the sponsors ARM and Plantronics will be offering to the laureates ! Winning projects will be published freely in QSP Revue and will potentially be reprinted in several other HAM publications. We look forward to receive your inputs.

Enjoy, Best 73 - à bientôt sur les ondes !
