Folks, I'm sure there's lots of info about this in the mbed community (and variations of this question have been asked many times before, but.... There are many threads and suggestions to follow (often leading down a rathole), mbed is a moving target, and there might just be someone who's done a very similar thing recently. What's valuable is curated content :-) So, any suggestions, especially about the good vs bad approaches? Pointers to the currently relevant stuff? A step-by-step guide? A template? Prior nRF51 or nRF52 port? In return, I'll be happy to contribute to a "lessons learned" thread or doc so followers don't have to repeat my mistakes.
