USB / Ethernet Connection

Could anyone advise if this is possible,   I want to talk from a PC to a USB device connected to the Mbed controller over the ethernet link

as if the USB device was directly connected to the PC .    Almost using the ethernet as an USB cable extender      The MBED controller

is simplly used as a conduit for the transfer , but would also handle other functions.

There's USB/IP, but I'm not sure if the mbed will have enough resources to make it work for any generic USB device.

If you're only looking to support a specific type of simple USB device like a serial port emulation or keyboard/mouse, it should be possible.
