Ethernet cable to mbed

Hi all, Im totaly new to mbed I've done some basic work with arduinos and c++ isnt new to me. But heres my question, i would like to connect my mbed via ethernet so it could send data, but can I connect ethernet cable direct to pins for ethernet and if so, what color of ethernet cable should go where? tnx for replays... if there are any missunderstanding by me please correct me.

When I connected an Ethernet magjack to my mbed, I used this Cookbook page to figure out how to do it.
