Connecting the mbed to a larger screen?

There are several cookbook recipes on connecting to smaller screens with resolution on the order of 96x96 or so... I'm wondering if there is a resolution limit - can the mbed be connected to a larger screen?

Every display comes with an interface ... serial / paralel .. The speed of the protocol / interface and the resolution limits the refresh rate of the screen. Mbed can handle composite video (not on analogout) or VGA for example. Look for Cookbook.

The cookbook lists connecting mbed to portable LCD's. Is it possible to connect mbed output to VGA monitor?
