16x2 LCD Screen printing Symbols

Hello, I followed the Text LCD tutorial and it worked on a solderless breadboard, and now I have it soldered on a PCB. It will not print what I'm telling it to (Still the example code from the Hello World). I've checked the pin connections numerous times, I can't find out what's wrong with it. It's just question marks, hyphens, and other gibberish. Could someone point me in the right direction for trouble shooting? Thanks.

Are you sure that you have a 2x16 display with the "standard" pinout and correct controller chip? ...kevin

&& after staring painfully at my project, I was probing some measurements and realized in my bundle of 50+ GND wires, I never GND'd the mBed itself -_-. Took me long enough to figure that out. Thanks for the reply!
