Just starting out here. Please see figure. Is this a list of classes? If they are classes, where are the libraries? Where are the .h files and can I read them?
Please tell me in the handbook where there is an overview of this menu. Newcomers need a place to learn the terminology associated with this Workspace.

It took me max 20 seconds to find it out. Why writing handbooks for such easy things?
Your answer is not helpful. Perhaps you did not read the description of this forum:
"New to mbed? Don't be afraid to answer your beginner level questions here... "
Who are you to tell me what should be and should not be in the handbook? If you cannot help, please leave this forum and go to the other one called "mbed". I'm sure you will be happier there. If you continue to make newcomers uncomfortable, I will ask the moderators to block you from posting in the "Hello World" forum.

If you click on them, you'll get the documentation for each one, and if you click on the mbed library itself, there will be a link in the top right-hand corner "Open library page" that will take you to:
Hi Just,
Yep, spot on; these are C++ classes.

* http://mbed.org/projects/libraries/svn/mbed/trunk
where you'll find all the header files.
Hope that helps!
