Xbee + Mbed to play MP3 File

15 Nov 2011

Hello Guys, I am doing another project and i need some advice. I was intending to use xbee to communicate with mbed so that when the mbed receive a RF, it will play certain audio file. Just wondering, is it workable? If so can you all guide me along? Really appreciate a lot! (:

You could use an old TV remote and an IR sensor , for your project . Have a look here , http://mbed.org/cookbook/IR and the orangeboard IR demo . I think Xbee is too much for this .( no need to use zigbee , unless you need to pass through wall )

You could use 1. a simple power amplifier such as LM386 , have a look at the last page of this KEIL development board, http://www.keil.com/mcb1700/mcb1700-schematics.pdf or 2. use a battery powered speaker from a pc , etc.
