I see a few people have tried DMX projects. I just wondered if anyone has sample code that is well tried and works ?
In particular, did you manage to get a 250 kHz clock out of the MBED ?
We did some work driving DMX from a Free-DOS PC a while back. That PC failed after a couple of years, and it would be really cool to be able to port it all to an MBED and slash the power consumption. Under DOS we used a Moxa RS-485 card, but had a number of odd problems until we changed the crystal for one with a frequency that was multiple of 250 kHz, hence my query about the MBED clock.
I've tried to read the markings on what I take to be the MBED clock oscillator, but it's too small for me to read !
