Fried USB pin?

09 Aug 2011

I was using the DVM to scope my voltage across the pins of the USB A socket when my probe accidentally connected the Vcc pin and the case of the socket.

It resulted in my USB flash drive being fried. (Tested the USB flash drive on the USB sockets on the computer to be doubly sure) I replaced the USB flash drive with a new one and now the mbed can't communicate with it.

Could it be that the D+ and D- pins of the LPC1768 chip be fried too?

Are you sure you still have 5V on the VUSB port? Cant imagine why the D+ and D- would break from contact to VCC
