mbed Magic Interface Chip

21 Oct 2013

Hello all,

In my production design, I'd really like to keep the "magic interface chip" and use the firmware that's written to it. Is this possible? In other words, is that chip something that can be bought in volume and used in custom mbed platforms?

Regards, Jim

Sort of, have you looked at the mbed HDK page yet? There's a schematic and firmware there for using an LPC11U35 as an interface chip of sorts.

A few days ago Simon Ford announced that the interface chip software will also go open source

Until then you can use the binary and follow the HDK instructions.

Thanks Neil and Wim. I appreciate it.

Simon said, they would open source the mbed interface firmware within the next month. http://mbed.org/questions/1871/Can-I-reuse-LPC11U35-with-mbed-interface/#answer2232
