I'm trying to use a 422 tranceiber with my mbed. I consider 2x 422 serial ports in my proyect, so I'd like to solve it only with one transceiber, could be great!
The one that I have in mind is LTC1334, however the power supply for this CI is 5v.
Any one knows if mbed will admit this chip? there is any risk using 5v for this transceiber instead of search another one with 3v3?
Thanks in advance!!!!

I think it would be OK to use this IC powered from 5V. You will have to use a separate 5V supply or there might be enough power from the USB to power it on the VU pin on the mbed

They have 3.3 Volt Supply Voltage types too (even in DIP8) which would mean you only need a single supply to your mbed and you don't depend on the USB voltage.
Also have a look at http://parametric.linear.com/html/rs485|422_transceivers

Thanks both, i'll try LTC1334 from other prototype.
Hope post the result soon ;)
