tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 24 *
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 25 * If the compiler evaluates this line, it will report the error and stop the compile.
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 26 *
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 27 * For example, you could use this to check some user-defined compile-time variables:
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 28 *
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 29 * @code
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 30 * #define NUM_PORTS 7
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 31 * #if (NUM_PORTS > 4)
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 32 * #error "NUM_PORTS must be less than 4"
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 33 * #endif
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 34 * @endcode
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 35 *
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 36 * Reporting Run-Time Errors:
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 37 * To generate a fatal run-time error, you can use the mbed error() function.
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 38 *
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 39 * @code
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 40 * error("That shouldn't have happened!");
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 41 * @endcode
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 42 *
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 43 * If the mbed running the program executes this function, it will print the
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 44 * message via the USB serial port, and then die with the blue lights of death!
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 45 *
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 46 * The message can use printf-style formatting, so you can report variables in the
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 47 * message too. For example, you could use this to check a run-time condition:
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 48 *
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 49 * @code
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 50 * if(x >= 5) {
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 51 * error("expected x to be less than 5, but got %d", x);
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 52 * }
tushki7 0:60d829a0353a 53 * #endcode
