The board

  • Ordered from amazon.cn, 95￥ + 10￥ shipment.
  • Package includes
  1. XNUCLEO-F103RB x 1
  2. ST-LINK/V2 (mini) x 1
  3. USB Type A Plug to Micro B Plug Cable x 1
  4. USB Type A Plug to Receptacle Cable x 1
  • Package arrived crushed, with pins sticking through the box. Fortunately only bend pins. Shipment issue.

Set up

ST-LINK/V2 (mini)

  • Enumeration fails on some USB ports. (In my case two USB 2.0 failed, one USB 3.0 succeed).
  • Install STM32 ST-LINK Utility v3.9.0 from www.st.com (Waveshare wiki points to an older v3.4.0).
  • After driver installation, enumerates as "STMicroelectronics STLink dongle".
  • Firmware version V2J23S4 (checked with STM32 ST-LINK Utility).

XNucleo-STM32F103RB

  • Install Silicon Lab UART USB driver from Waveshare Wiki.
  • Configure power selection switches (USB powered).
  • After plug in, enumerates as "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM4)".
